Marvan Atapattu was appointed SriLanka’s first Full time coach after15 years confirmed by the Sri Lanka cricket, following six weeks of the approval process, and for three months he served as interim coach. Coach selection committee interviewed Atapattu and other candidate. They  recommended  Atapattu as their preferred candidate to the Executive Committee.
Executive Committee “unanimously approved and appointed national coach Mr. Marvan Attapattu  with swift speedy effect ,” said in  media  conference by the Srilankan board. Atapattu had always been strong candidate for the coaching post, which is because of his close understanding with Sri Lankan players  as well as his victorious  as an interim head coach..
Atapattu’s first task will be seven matches ODI series against England, which began on November 26 there will be New Zealand Sri Lanka, which has two tests and seven ODIS  full tour. The first major test Atapattu will face be in the World Cup, which starts February 14, 2015.
